PEDIATRICS
At Optical Solutions we are lucky to have two Optometrists with advanced training in Pediatric eye care, and vision therapy. If your child needs glasses, we have one of the largest selection of children's frames in the area. After all, you want your child to succeed in school, and in life. To give them this chance, give them the clearest vision possible. Make sue that their vision hasn’t been overlooked, as many kids don’t even realize that better vision exists. Let us help your kids succeed. Bring them in for an eye exam. The number one, and perhaps the most important question asked by all parents is, “At what age should my child have an eye exam?” The American Optometric Association and Public Health experts recommend that you should have you infant screened by an Optometrist during their first year of life. Most doctors, including us, will give your infant a free screening before 18 months, and all doctors agree that your child should have a comprehensive eye exam by the age of 6, or before they start first grade. Of course, if you notice an eye turn or something drastically wrong, please bring them in sooner. A school screening may pick up on some refractive errors, but they do nothing to assess the health of the eye, and we have seen many children that have passed a screening, yet have a very serious visual problem. In fact, school screening only identify 5 % of vision problems in children!
